Historical Syntesis International Tour Publications Events Personalities Active Repertory Awards See and Staff HISTORICAL SYNTESIS OF PAPALOTE THEATRE GROUP This theatre group was founded in 1962, it has dedicated until now, must of their repertory to the infant and juvenile public, basing it´s work on puppet shows. All along it´s prolific artistic career had taken to scenes aproximately one houndred performance, including foreings and nationals; coming from classic and universal literature, dramatic and narrative; from our afrocuban inheritance or as a result about the investigation coming from around the conflicts between the child and the society. There are the lines that attain the artistic occupation of the group. Decade between 1982 and 1992 was for the group the time to be situated betweeen the most famous groups of the cuban theatre movement for childs. Crystallization of a peculiar expresive language, wrought with total autonomy, the continuous created work, traduced by estetic finding that guarantee the value of the productions and the contribution given to the cuban puppet tradition, are most of the principles reaches that has permitted the group to be known in Cuba and in other countries. This period of time coincide with the process of revaluation of the popular afrocuban culture that has come to be the distinctive seal of the group so that has been fearless and enricher to our culture and to the history of our theatre group. Papalote is characterized for his intensive activity, by the aproach to all community sphere where it belongs, by the constant revolutionary forms of it´s expresive codes and by the anxious experimentation around the manipulation technic searching for a better comunication with the spectator. They have also used a newers theatrical and puppet player language for children and youth in which take place dramatic art, music, design and put on stage. PUBLICATIONS The group patronize the Papalote Editions, wich artesanally puplic semiannually the puppet´s bulletin "The Mojiganga", unique of this class in Cuba, dedicated entirely to puppet´s theatre. Also they public dramatic texts for puppets, like "Queen and legends","Kite´s which wanted reach the moon Romance" (both by René Fernández), "Wolfy and it conscience", by Rolando Arencibia, and others.
OTHERS EVENTS Besides International Puppet´s Theatre Workshop, Papalote organize the project "Puppet´s street", which try to get the spectators, convoke them in their own life space (the street), by means of several activities not only limited to scenic representation, but they pretend to be clasper : plays, expositions, puppet´s sell, songs, clowns and other multiples offers, all oriented to the whole enjoy and to set a direct and truthful comunication. This project will have non steady character, with monthly frequency, the last sonday of each month and will estimulate esthetically and ideologycally to the state´s institution wich develop children´s and young´s activities. The goal is our creators merge in common work with the integrant of the tis small community, "the street". "The puppet´s street" intend to work to constribute to integral development to the children, by means of the learning and reafirmation of adequate behaviors, habits, discipline and healthy costum, vital cuestions in their forming, in order to to they raise too high our kite and enjoy thenselves with it merriment and situations, but they learn too of it knowledge.
