The right to travel to Cuba

Folks,

As most of you are aware, despite impressions in media to the contrary, travel by Americans to Cuba and VISAS for Cubans coming to the US are more difficult than ever before to obtain for common folks.

With the change in regulations stating the new catagory "presumed guilt," there really is no way to travel to Cuba without risking fines and harassment, EXCEPT and ONLY with a license from the US Treasury. America, once "Land of the Free'" is anything but that.

We no longer have a RIGHT or FREEDOM to travel; a few of us may be given the PRIVILEGE to travel.

Many of us, because we were "born free", and believe the Constitution, Bill of Rights and International Declaration of Human Rights, as well as understand freedom of information and association are fundamental to the democratic principle, refuse to beg for the privilege of license. We wish to REMOVE the "license" taken by the US Congress & Treasury to take away OUR rights!

Thus we are forming a national "Wall of Lawyers", which will become a legal support foundation, for people going to Cuba, and then abused by the government. It may also, in the near future, form a national legal support team for a national freedom to travel action, which there seems to be alot of grassroots support for.

Please collect names of lawyers in your community that would be interested in defending Americans' democratic RIGHT to travel.

We will then have some information packets made which will explain to them what to do, and who to call, when OFAC sends those scary certified letters. (Send names to me - LisaCubaSi@aol.com) Thanks!
